Well it seemed logical that I should be my own first testimonial. This is my third property, but what I call my first investment property. It is a well positioned 2 bed, 1 bath unit in Elwood, Victoria, 7km from the CBD and a short stroll to the beach. It is the first property I bought following my own program, using my current investing criteria and the whole process took me less than 3 months.
I exchanged in Jan 2007, settled in March and by July it had increased in value by $50,000 or 14% and by December it had increased by $80,000 or 22%!! I look forward to watching it's capital growth so I can leverage against it and buy my next property in 2008.

Multiple property ownership, who me? No, that’s only for the rich right?. Well that’s what I thought until I was enlightened as to how it could be a reality. I was always aware that home ownership was a 'good' thing and something that a lot of Australians should strive towards. I also believed investing in property was another of those good ideas that I had always planned to do something about one day, but it just seemed too hard, too complicated and the daily grind just seemed to get in the way.
Now I have to confess here and tell you that Luca is my 'little' sister and when she returned to Sydney after a number of years living in Melbourne, she had no "job" or regular income but three properties in her portfolio. I thought, how can this be?
Luca taught me a few of the ins and outs of the property market and the importance of having a team of experts around you. However the biggest impression she made on me was the importance of mindset, setting goals and having the right attitude to go forward.
Since then my wife and I have purchased our second investment property, as pictured, and we are currently looking for a third and beyond. You’ll be amazed what you can do with a little capital and the desire to create a brighter future.
